Professor Andy Mount is currently the Dean of Research in the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, leading strategic research development.

Professor Andy Mount holds a Personal Chair in Physical Electrochemistry in the School of Chemistry.

His personal research interests include electrochemistry, modified electrodes, biosensors, micro- and nanoelectrode arrays, molten salts and clean energy. Recent awards include the Molten Salts Discussion Group Invited Speaker Award, and the Lu Jiaxi lectureship at Xiamen University. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and a member of the Scottish Science Advisory Council, which provides policy advice to the Scottish Government.
