SPRINT to support global Galileo Masters 2021 competition

NEWS: Sponsoring Galileo Masters GNSS competition

Encouraging development of innovative Global Navigation Satellite System technology

SPRINT has announced its sponsorship of the Galileo Masters Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technologies competition.

Galileo Masters is a global innovation challenge, established to encourage the development of cutting-edge GNSS solutions and services. SPRINT previously sponsored the competition in 2019.

Since its launch in 2004, the Galileo Masters has sought the greatest ideas in satellite navigation and continues to set the standard in supporting the transformation of commercial space‐related advancements in fields such as agriculture, healthcare, cyber security and the environment.

The £7 million SPRINT (SPace Research and Innovation Network for Technology) programme provides unprecedented access to university space expertise and facilities to help businesses develop new commercial products for space and other key sectors. Businesses entering the competition can utilise the programme to help to accelerate the progress of their competition project idea.

Martine Harvey, Interim Head of SPRINT said: “SPRINT is committed to supporting innovation through the application of space-enabled technology, research or data. With its focus on developing forward-thinking solutions based on satellite navigation, the Galileo Masters competition is a great opportunity for businesses to progress their ideas in the global space network.”
