Surrey Space Centre has also formed a strategic collaboration with the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) the UK's standards laboratory, and set up the Global Sensing and Satellite Centre (GloSS), which aims to demonstrate improved calibration and data quality in Earth Observation Applications for Agriculture, Future Cities and the Blue Economy, supporting the uptake of EO downstream services. This forms part of the NPL South East of England regional hub, co-located with the University of Surrey.
