A three-day course designed to introduce the fundamentals of CCD operations and characterisation using an Te2v CCD-30-11. The workshop combines a mixture of lab-based hardware and software exercises using the state of the art laboratory facilities at the Open University in Milton Keynes, UK.

This workshop provides an introduction to: basic structures and operating potentials; camera systems and drive electronics; video output, waveforms and image acquisition; dark current generation in both inverted and non-inverted mode; measuring the responsivity of the output node; measuring the camera system’s noise components; generating mean vs. variance and photon/dark current transfer curves. The CCD workshop is available to SPRINT SMEs interested and in the development of imaging instrumentation.
