Sensors operated include remote sensing and direct atmospheric sampling equipment, and the facility’s current fleet includes a light aircraft and a number of RPA systems. We have been directly involved in research operations with our light aircraft around the UK and Europe (as far afield as the Scandinavian Arctic) and the RPA/sensor packages that we have developed have been deployed globally.

The Airborne GeoSciences Facility, hosted within the University of Edinburgh’s School of GeoSciences, has been involved in the development, integration and operation of advanced airborne sensing systems on both conventional platforms and remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) for over 10 years.
